Six weeks old!

Yep, I'm six weeks old now. Just look at how much I can hold my head up these days. I'm getting stronger, and more aware all the time. I'm eating more, and sleeping a bit more. Go me!

Say CHEESE!!

At just over five weeks old, I started to smile for people! If you tickle my lips with a binky or bottle--or even just your fingers, like Daddy does in this video--I'll cheese-out for you. Check out my adorable little dimples! Lately I've been doing it when I see Mommy, Daddy, or Bailey come near me when I'm awake.

Grandma and smiles

Just after I turned five weeks old, Grandma and Grandpa Bliss came down for a visit. While Grandma was holding me, she teased me with my binky, and I started to smile!

5 Weeks Old!

Yes indeed, folks. Hard to believe, I know, but here I am at five weeks old already. I'm definitely out of my newborn diapers, and I'm beginning to grow out of my newborn clothes.

1st Monthiversary!!!!!

That's right, folks! I'm a whole month old TODAY! I've grown a little, and some of my newborn sleepers and clothes are already getting tight. I graduated from newborn to size 1 diapers just yesterday, and my now diapers come with cool green and blue polka-dots. I'm eating a bit more, and sleeping a little more at a time, especially at night. Oh, and look how fast I can move my hands! (see pic #3 above). Daddy had to go back to work this Monday, and Mommy will start part-time next week, so I get to go with Bailey to Daycare for the first time, and Daddy will pick us both up when he's off work. Sounds like fun!

Grandma Lynnette and FAA

Yesterday afternoon, Grandma Lynnette and our Favorite Aunt Avery dropped by! They played catch with me for awhile, back and forth, back and forth, and then Aunt Avery fed me my bottle. I was mostly asleep through the whole visit, until the bottle came out.

Bundled up!

Yesterday, my big sister Bailey had soccer, and the whole family got to go! Since that indoor sports complex sometimes just isn't heated, Mommy and Daddy bundled me up in this really toasty thermal teddy-bear sleeper thingy that Grandma Debbie got for me. It was just a little big on me, but, come on, how adorable was I?

4 Weeks Old!

Wow! And here I am four weeks old. As you can see, I slept through most of the day with various people. I was wide awake for my bottle feeding with big sister Bailey though. My favorite place to sleep is cuddled right up on somebody's chest. I have a way of lulling that person to sleep as well.

Me and Bailey

My big sister is so cool. She always wants to hold me, and she feeds me sometimes too. She's always there to help with my diaper changes, well, when she's awake, and also my baths. Just look at me all zonked out in her arms.

3 Weeks Old

Well, look at that! Here, I am three weeks old already! Can you believe it? Seems like it went pretty darn fast so far, what with the holidays in there. As you can see, I'm pretty good at holding my head up already.

Grandma Lynnette and Pappa Steve

Yesterday, Grandma Lynnette and Pappa Steve came by for a visit. I showed them my patented "I can sleep through anything" routine. I finally started waking up when they were getting ready to go.

Me and Sis

Yep. Here we are, just hangin' on the couch.

Santa Suit

I finally woke up later Christmas Afternoon. To celebrate, I put on my "Baby's First Christmas" outfit.

Christmas Morning

Well, I didn't sleep all that well on Christmas Eve. Guess I was just too excited about the big day to come. I slept through most of the morning excitement. Bailey helped me unwrap my presents. See the cute bunny-blanky she got for me?

Fussy on the play mat

Here I am hanging out with my big sister and my mommy on the play mat. I was having lots of fun, but sometimes I get a bit overwhelmed with all the new sights and sounds.

This morning

After hanging out with Bailey on the play mat, we cuddle with Daddy and Maximus on the couch. He's the furry one with the glowing eyes.

Two weeks old!

This morning, while I was having some breakfast in Mommy and Daddy's room, my big sister Bailey woke up and came in to watch some cartoons with us. Mommy thought it would be fun for her to help Daddy take out a play mat for me, so she did. Look how bright and colorful it is! I had a blast just laying there and looking at all the hanging toys. Bailey showed me how everything works. What a great way to celebrate being TWO WEEKS OLD already!

First Doctor's Appointment

Yesterday, after we dropped Bailey off at daycare, Mommy, Daddy, and I went to my very first doctor's appointment. Everything looked good, and I'm back up to my birthweight already. Go me! I've also shed most of that belly button cord thing already.

Sisters

I have the worlds best big sister. She is so kind and gentle with me. Just look at the care she shows in feeding me from my bottle. Last night she even let me borrow one of her two favorite blankys. That is love, folks. That is love.

Reagan Burrito!

I like to be swaddled. Just look at how comfortable I am in these pictures. I'm like a little burrito.

Aunt Angel and Uncle Todd

Today I got to meet Aunt Angel and Uncle Todd. Bailey told me that Mommy works at Aunt Angel's house, and that Uncle Todd shoots off fireballs at the Fourth of July.

The Return of the Stork

5:00am on the 9th of December, Ryan and Lindsey's alarm went off, rousing them from a mostly restless period of sleep and non-sleep. It was time to get up and go to the Family Birth Center of the hospital again. This time around the stork had a scheduled landing time and place, so Ryan and Lindsey had looked forward to this particular day for many weeks and months prior. Leaving their 3-year-old daughter, Bailey, in the capable hands of her Grandpa Ed, Grandma Debbie, Grandma Lynnette, and Aunt Avery, they headed to the hospital and were checked into their room, this time #150 (just three doors down from where little Bailey was when she was first born).

Their first nurse, Lindsay, helped prepare Lindsey and Ryan with ID bracelets, and gowns and scrubs, then she put the IV in Lindsey's arm and everything went smooth as you please. The doctor came to talk to Lindsey, and then they just had to wait a few moments to make sure the OR was available. After that, they started walking there, but suddenly a nurse told them to head back to the room, because there was another mommy-to-be that might need the OR in a few minutes, just in case. Back to the room they all went where they waited about fifteen more minutes and then they began the walk again.

Lindsey was walked into the OR, and Ryan again had to wait for a bit outside. This time he was more excited than scared, and it seemed like the wait before he could go in was much, much shorter than the last time.

In he went and sat by Lindsey's left shoulder. There were sounds, there were smells, there was motion, and after what seemed like a small trickle of flitting little moments, the doctor said, "It's time to see baby come out," so Ryan peeked around the curtain.

This time, there was a very tall doctor in the way, so he didn't get to see little baby poking out or being pulled out, but a nurse brought her right around RIGHT after she came out, and she was very vocal about her displeasure.

Baby got cleaned, weighed, and measured, and Ryan asked Lindsey if the name they'd planned seemed to fit after they'd both seen her. It did, and minutes later little Reagan Mae Anderson was in her daddy's arms.

She was 7lbs 40z and 19 1/4 inches long. That's just a little bit heavier and longer than her sister was. She came out at 9:02am.

The parents and their new little daughter went to the recovery room for a bit, then went back to their new mommy suite. On the way Daddy signaled to Grandma and Grandpa Bliss that everything was A-Okay, and then the visiting began.

A few minutes later, Grandma Lynnette and Aunt Avery brought the new Big Sister Bailey in to meet her new baby sister Reagan. On the way back to the suite, Ryan told everyone her name, and Bailey said, "Oh, Daddy, it's beautiful!"

Overcome with emotion and overwhelmed by the amount of people in the room (and that Mommy was still in a gurney, not her regular bed) Bailey needed her Daddy to hold her for a bit as she first laid eyes on her little sibling. Later that day, she got to hold her for the first time.

Mommy and Reagan had to stay at the hospital for a couple days longer than they'd hoped, but finally, on Monday the 13th, everyone came home and the new foursome family life began.
